Party arty

Elixir again received the vote of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts to create the materials for their annual bash. Artists Ball 7 presented a high-spirited platform for The New Party ’08, complete with a voter invitation pamphlet to the “political funraiser.” The two indistinguishable candidates were San Francisco’s iconic identical twins, Marian and Vivian Brown. Trip the Light Fantastic

His Elegance, emcee Willie Brown, Jr., sported a crisp pocket square. The evening supports a newly endowed scholarship to the California College of the Arts. What a bright idea! Continue reading

Good Samaritan

[Here’s something] to warm the cockles of your damp, dreary, fungus-ridden February hearts: City College journalism student (and Elixir’s Project Manager) Laurel Moorhead was on Valencia Street, heading home after class recently, when she saw a woman fall off her bicycle. When she ran over to help, she found the woman’s foot twisted around, bone bulging. Continue reading
